  • Avoid disturbing the surgical site on the day of surgery. Do not pull back your lip to inspect the area.
  • Some swelling and mild discomfort is expected for 3–5 days. Ice packs and anti-inflammatory medication help manage this.
  • Eat a soft diet for 1–2 weeks. Avoid chewing directly on the implant site.
  • Do not use a straw or smoke — suction and nicotine impair healing and significantly increase implant failure risk.
  • Brush gently around the area starting the day after surgery. A soft toothbrush and chlorhexidine rinse (if prescribed) will keep the site clean.
  • Attend all follow-up appointments. Implant integration is monitored over several months before the final crown is placed.
