PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin)
Bone Graft & Bone Augmentation / Complex Surgical Tooth Extraction / Dental Implants

Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF)
PRF is an autologous biologic material made from a small sample of your own blood, processed at the time of surgery.
It forms a fibrin matrix containing platelets and growth factors that may support soft tissue and bone healing.
PRF is typically used as an adjunct, not a standalone replacement for sound surgical technique and case planning.
How PRF Is Used
A blood sample is centrifuged to produce PRF membranes or plugs during the procedure visit.
PRF may be placed in extraction sites, grafted regions, or around surgical flaps based on clinical indication.
Because PRF is autologous, no donor-site or foreign biologic harvesting is required.
Benefits
- Uses the patient's own biologic material
- Useful adjunct for selected oral surgery procedures
- Can be combined with grafting and extraction workflows
- Chairside preparation during the procedure visit
- No additional donor-site morbidity
Frequently Asked Questions
